How to apply

Eligibility criteria

The project must concern a biotherapy or bioproduction approach in health linked to at least one of the following 3 thematic axes of the DIM BioConvS:


1) Engineering of life and bioproduction
2) Development of therapeutic proofs of principle
3) New, high-throughput and standardizable analytical methods


The research team receiving the regional grant must be located in Île-de-France. Starting from January 2024, all laboratories wishing to join the DIM BioConvS and apply for its calls must complete an online membership application form:

The acquisition must take place within 18 months following the financing decision (i.e. no later than July 31, 2025).

The submitted project cannot be the subject of another grant from the Île-de-France Region. For any specific questions, contact the DIM BioConvS.

 

Selection criteria

Apart from the scientific quality of the project, the evaluation will take into account the strategic nature of the equipment, its sharing and the involvement of young researchers and emerging teams. Collaborative or platform projects will be given priority. Projects encouraging the association of a socio-economic partner are encouraged. Priority will also be given to establishments that have not received DIM BioConvS funding in 2023.

List of documents that must be included in each file

  • The completed form including administrative, financial, scientific and technical information (model to download in the left menu)
  • A quote for the equipment
  • The co-financing letter signed by the legal representative of the purchasing organization. If applicable, you will need to provide a letter per co-financing organization.

Please note: The co-financing letter must be signed by the legal representative of the purchasing organization. The signature of the laboratory director will not be accepted.

Any incomplete file will not be evaluated.

 

Characteristics of the funding

Teams receiving support from DIM BioConvS will de facto be part of the DIM BioConvS network. Thus, the Île-de-France Region encourages its members to submit their publications on open access platforms (HAL, etc.).

Depending on the means available, the scientific feasibility and with the agreement of the holder, the DIM BioconvS reserves the right to finance only part of the project presented.

Eligible expenses

Equipment whose total cost is greater than €7,500 excluding tax is eligible. Shipping, installation and training costs as well as maintenance may be eligible if this information appears clearly on the initial quote and therefore if these services are covered directly by the supplier. Computers and software are also eligible if they are essential to the operation of the equipment.

Please note, no management fees may be deducted from the amount allocated for the acquisition of equipment by the managing and/or beneficiary and/or co-financing establishments of this grant.

All expenses are recorded excluding tax.

 

Co-financing

Every DIM’s equipment funding come with a clause of a minimum co-funding of 34%. It means that, of the total expense of equipment that you buy (could be multiple equipments belonging to the same platform), at least 34% of the total price (HT) has to be financed by another source of funding than this call. The source of funding could be your institute, or any other grant you want that is not coming from Région Ile-de-France. Please note that any discount from the manufacturer is not counted as co-financement. Please check the FAQ for more details.

Commitment

The beneficiary undertakes to cite the Île-de-France Region and the DIM BioConvergence for Health in any publication where experiments were carried out using the purchased equipment, by adding the following wording to the acknowledgments section:

 “This work has been supported by Region Île-de-France in the framework of DIM BioConvS”

 

 

Communication obligations

The Region's logo must appear on all information and communication and/or event media relating to the supported project, whether printed, digital or audiovisual.

Visibility of regional support will be achieved by placing stickers with only the Region logo. The stickers will be provided by the regional services.

 

Management of GDPR data

DIM BioConvS undertakes to comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), i.e. all the rules relating to the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data , the free movement of this data and the right to the protection of this data.

Applicants to this call for projects authorize DIM BioConvS to process personal data collected during submission, for the purposes of processing their application. The data collected will be kept for the duration of the selection of the winning projects and shared with the staff of the establishment carrying the DIM (Université Paris Cité) in charge of the smooth running of this call for projects and with the jury of the call for projects. project, composed of researchers from the DIM BioConvS network (French or international), members of the DIM BioConvS ComEx, and those responsible for piloting the DIM BioConvS in the Île-de-France Region. If a grant is awarded, the winners' data will be kept until December 31, 2026.

At any time, it will be possible to contact the manager of the DIM BioConvS (chiara.fracassi@u-paris.fr) to request the deletion of their own personal data.
